Sirajganj, city in central Bangladesh, in eastern Rajshahi Division. Sirajganj is located on the west bank of the Jamuna River, 110 km (68 mi) northwest of Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, and about the same distance east of Rajshahi. Sirajganj is important for its jute mills and as a trade center for jute, rice, fish, and chili peppers. A river port and railway station link the city with the rest of the country. Sirajganj was founded in the early 19th century. Population (1991) 108,000.
